Garden Basket

from $95.00

The perfect garden companion! This ceramic colander is perfect for holding and rinsing all of your fresh produce this harvest season.

This piece started out as a 2 pound lump of clay. It was thrown on the wheel, turning into a shallow bowl form. Next, it was trimmed and a little foot was added. Later, holes were added to the base, and flower-shaped holes were added to the sides. Basket handles were then fastened to the edges before it was set out to dry (very! slowly!) under a piece of plastic. It was then fired in the kiln to 1800 degrees, before being glazed in a creamy white glaze. It entered the kiln for a final time, baking up to 2200 degrees. And then, it was finished!
